+ What does Storganize do?
Storganize is a stress free storage solution for college students, but we can help anyone who likes the idea of storage without lifting a finger. We offer the full-service pickup, storage and retrieval of your excess stuff. Renting a storage unit is no fun: they’re either expensive, far-away or both and you have to move everything yourself or hire a moving company. Our service handles all of that for you and our on-demand delivery service makes it easy to request that all or some of your items be brought back to you. Here’s our process:
1. You Sign Up and schedule a pickup date
2. We drop off any bins you requested to your door
3. We arrive on the pickup date and move your items to storage
4. We "tag" all your items with photographs and descriptions
5. You make delivery requests through our website to get your belongings back
+ What storage options are available?
We have 3 storage plans available:
The Item Plan- for storing a few individual items
The Dorm Plan- get a dedicated 5ft x 5ft storage space
The Apartment Plan-
Studio- 5ft x 10ft storage space
1 Bedroom- 10ft x 10ft storage space
2 Bedroom- 10ft x 15ft storage space
3 Bedroom- 10ft x 20ft storage space
+ Where does Storganize operate?
Storganize’s main office is based in Northwest, Washington, DC and our service area (for the moment!) is anywhere within 15 miles of Washington, DC.
+ How can I sign up?

+ What can I store?
Pretty much anything that is less than 250lbs and 10ft tall. We cannot accept any:
1. Illegal substances
2. Hazardous Materials

+ How much does it cost to store my items?
Storganize charges monthly for the storage of your items. Your first pickup and delivery are free!
Fees depend on the storage plan you select. You can also save 10% on the below prices by paying for your storage term upfront rather than month-to-month.

+ How much does it cost for Storganize to pick up my items?
Store with us for at least 3 months and your pickup is FREE.
If you are storing for less than 3 months (or if you need additional pickups/deliveries), pickups and deliveries cost the following:

+ How much does it cost to get my items back?
If you store with us for at least 3 months, your first pickup and delivery are Free, regardless of the plan you choose.
If you store for less than 3 months or need additional pickups or deliveries, please see the prices listed in the above questions, "How much does it cost for Storganize to pick up my items?"
+ Is there a minimum amount of time I have to store my items?
Storganize does have a 1 month minimum, but you can request your items back at any time. If you are storing for less than a month, you will be charged for the full month for items you remove early.
Also, if you store with us for at least 3 months, you will get a free pickup of your items and free delivery!
+ When does my monthly billing cycle begin?
Storganize will start charging you the day we pick your items to take them to storage. From there, you will be charged every month on the “anniversary” of your pick-up day.
If you elect to save 10% by paying upfront, you will be charged the full amount for your storage term on the day of pickup.
+ Do you pro-rate your monthly storage fees?
No. We do not prorate charges and there is no discount for removing your items before the end of your monthly billing cycle. If you request an item back before the end of your billing cycle, you will be charged for that item for the remainder of that month and it will be removed from your bill at the start of your next billing cycle.
+ How do you manage billing and credit cards?
We require that you put down a credit / debit card when you Sign Up for our service online. Your card will not be charged until the day we come to pick up your items for storage and will be charged monthly after that until you cancel your service. We use Stripe payment processing to securely store your card and manage your monthly charges.
+ How do I update my billing information?
Since we don’t store your credit card data ourselves, please notify us at firstname.lastname@example.org that you would like to update your billing info and we'll send you a secure form where you can change your info.
+ How do I cancel my service?
Canceling is simple- just request a delivery of all your remaining items in storage. Once all your items are returned to you, or brought to another address, junk or donation center, your service will automatically cancel. We do not prorate charges, so if you request your items be removed before the end of your monthly billing cycle, you will still be charged for the remainder of that month and your service will cancel before your next billing cycle begins.
Boxes, Packing and Moving:
+ What size are the boxes you provide? How many can I get?
Our boxes are standard, medium-sized cardboard moving boxes. The exact dimensions are 18' x 18' x 16' or 3 cubic ft. You can request as many as you like when you sign up and we’ll deliver them to your door. Order more than you think you’ll need; we’ll pick up any bins you don’t use and you’ll only be charged for the boxes you store with us.
+ I have my own boxes. Will you accept them?
Yes. We provide you with our boxes for free upon request, but if you prefer to use your own boxes, we’re happy to accept them. All boxes are charged at the $7/month per box rate, regardless of size. We reserve the right to refuse to take, or ask you to repack, boxes weighing more than 35lbs.
+ Do you accept items that don’t fit into boxes?
Yes. If it won’t fit into a box, we call it an un-boxed item. The fee for storing un-boxed items is $15/month per item on the Item Plan. The Dorm and Apartment plans are also great for the storage of larger items.
+ Do you accept furniture?
Yes. On the Item Plan, furniture storage is charged at our un-boxed item rate of $15/month per item. For the Dorm and Apartment plans, we can store as much furniture as will fit in the space dedicated to you under the plan you choose. Don't worry, we'll help you pick the right plan for the items you need to store.
+ Do you provide packing assistance?
No, but we will provide you with as many of our bins as you like. When you sign up, just select how many bins you think you’ll need and we’ll drop them off at your door for free!
+ Do I need to have all my items packed before Storganize arrives?
Yes. Storganize does not provide packing assistance and we allot 1 hour of moving help per pickup or delivery request. If you need more than 1 hour of moving help, additional hours are $30/hr, so we recommend that you have all your items packed before we arrive to facilitate the moving process.
+ Will you move my items out of my house for me?
Yes! Our moving team is happy to move all your items out of your house for you, provided that you, or someone you trust, will be present during the pickup window. We allot 1 hour of moving help per pickup or delivery request; additional hours, if needed, are $30/hr.
Pickups and Deliveries:
+ How do I schedule a pickup of my items?
New customers may schedule their pickup when they Sign Up for the service on our website or request that we contact you to schedule your pickup. Existing customers can request that our movers “Bring extra items out to storage” at any time from their web profile. All pickups occur within a 2 hour window which you can select during the Sign Up process.
+ How far in advance can I schedule a pickup or delivery?
Pickups and deliveries must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.
+ How long does it take for you to bring my items back to me?
We promise we’ll deliver your items to you within the 2 hour time window you select. All requests for pickups and deliveries must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.
+ Do I have to be present during the pickup window?
No, but we highly recommend that you or a person you trust be present for the scheduled pickup. If you choose to have a person you trust handle the pickup, we’ll ask for that person’s name and phone number when you sign up for a pickup. If no one will be present during the pickup, you may select to leave your items in an accessible place for our movers to pick up. If you choose not to have someone present, Storganize will not be liable if the items you left for pickup are stolen, damaged or lost before we arrive.
+ What days of the week and hours do you operate your pickups and deliveries?
We operate 7 days a week and you can schedule your 2 hour pickup window for any time between 8am and 6pm.
+ Will anyone open my boxes/bins while they are in Storganize’s care?
Yes, unless you request otherwise, Storganize will open your boxes and bins once, on the day of the pickup, to take a photo of the contents. We use these photos to create your online inventory of your belongings in storage. After this, we seal all boxes and bins and will not open them again, unless we reasonably believe there to be prohibited or dangerous items stored within the box or if we are legally compelled to do so. Storganize does not unpack your boxes and bins and only takes overhead photos from the top.
All of our storage bins have a plastic loop for sealing purposes. If you do not want us to open your bin, you may seal it yourself with a plastic twist-tie, understanding that we reserve the right to open sealed bins if we reasonably believe there to be prohibited or dangerous items stored within the box or if we are legally compelled to do so.
+ Where does Storganize store my items?
Storganize does not own a warehouse and partners with established self-storage facilities in Maryland, Virginia and DC to store your items. Our current partner facilities are located in Kensington, Rockville, Shirlington, Laurel and Landsdowne. All our partner facilities employ 24/7 security and must meet our standards of cleanliness and climate control.
+ Can I access my items in storage myself?
No. For security and insurance reasons, as well as our partnership contracts with the storage facilities we use, we cannot permit our customers to access their items while in storage. Our service is designed for your convenience and we hope you’ll never have to go out to a storage unit yourself again.
+ Are my items insured while they are in Storganize’s care?
Storganize offers a base level of valuation for all items in our posession. This valuation is limited to maximum of $250/item (a box or bin counts as one item). We take the utmost care when transporting and storing your items, but, if you find one of your items to be damaged or lost upon delivery, you may submit a claim via our email, email@example.com. If you are storing items which you value at more than $250, you may inquire about purchasing higher valuation coverage.
